BMW F87 M2 N55 Valved Exhaust System

T304 Stainless Steel – 3" Inlet, Dual 2.5" Mandrel-Bent Pipes with Vacuum Valves

Overview

The Valvetronic Designs Valved Exhaust System for the BMW F87 M2 unlocks the full potential of the N55 engine, delivering maximum sound when you want it and refined quietness when you don’t. Built from premium T304 stainless steel, the system connects to any downpipe and runs a 3-inch primary section before splitting into dual 2.5-inch mandrel-bent pipes, exiting through a set of premium quad tips.

This unique split design accelerates exhaust gas flow for improved performance and a more engaging tone compared to traditional single-pipe systems. Vacuum-actuated valves provide rapid operation and proven long-term reliability, all controlled by a standalone module that allows valve control in any driving mode.

Why It Works

  • Optimized Dual-Pipe Design: Splitting into two 2.5" pipes after the downpipe improves scavenging and enhances exhaust tone.

  • Vacuum Valve System: Reliable and responsive, with standalone control for operation at any time.

  • Improved Flow & Sound: Flows more efficiently and sounds richer than OEM and many aftermarket options.

Sound & Control

  • Valves Open: Raw, aggressive tone with maximum volume and character.

  • Valves Closed: Refined, daily-drivable sound levels for comfort.

  • Standalone Controller: Operates independently of drive mode selection.

Construction & Quality

  • Material: Brushed T304 stainless steel for strength and corrosion resistance.

  • Weight Savings: 4.3 lb lighter than the factory exhaust.

  • Craftsmanship: Precision TIG welds and fully mandrel-bent tubing.

  • Tips: Beautiful sleeve-style tips designed to complement the F87 rear fascia.

Fitment

  • 2016–2018 BMW F87 M2 (N55)

ECU tuning is the process of adjusting the engine control unit's software to enhance vehicle performance, efficiency, or fuel economy.

It can, depending on the manufacturer. Many warranties do not cover modifications like ECU tuning.

Use the highest octane fuel recommended for your specific tune to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Yes, a properly tuned car can be used daily, as long as the tune is tailored for reliable, everyday driving.

CPC (Central Powertrain Controller) and TCU (Transmission Control Unit) manage your vehicle's powertrain and transmission systems, respectively.

Map switching allows you to change between different tuning settings (maps) for varying driving conditions without having to retune the ECU.

Yes, if done by a professional using proper tools, ECU tuning is generally safe for your vehicle.

ECU tuning works by modifying the software that controls engine parameters like fuel mixture, ignition timing, and boost pressure to optimize performance.

The process of installing a tune depends on the vehicle’s make and model. Some tunes are installed by connecting a tuning device to your car’s OBD-II port and uploading the tuned software, others may require ECU unlock.

Stage 1 is for vehicles with no modifications, stage 2 is for vehicles with bolt-on upgrades or downpipes installed.

We offer post-installation support, troubleshooting, and guidance on using your tuning software and hardware.

Choose tuning software that is compatible with your vehicle, has good reviews, and suits your performance goals (e.g., reliability vs. max power).
